It is with great regret that the CMC has learned of the death yesterday of its President, Lord Slynn of Hadley. Sir Henry Brooke, the Chairman said:

"I know that members of the Board will be sorry to learn that our President, Lord Slynn died yesterday at the age of 79. He had been very gravely ill in hospital since January. He was a great believer in, and supporter of, mediation, and we will miss his wise counsel."

Lord Slynn's funeral will be in Westminster on 20th April 2009 and the CMC will be represented by Sir Henry Brooke, the present Chairman, Sir Brian Neill, the first Chairman, and other Board Members.
