CMCL Membership and Registration 2016

The CMC has a new online membership and registration system for both renewals and new joiners.

The roll out of the new system will be in stages and groups of members will receive an email invitation to renew their membership, and registration where applicable, in alphabetical order by email address over the coming weeks.

Individual Members

All who were members during 2015 will be asked to renew their membership except those who joined the CMC for the first time in the last quarter of 2015.

Those who became registered during the individual registration scheme launch last year will not need to renew their registration until January 2017.

Members who did not become registered last year are welcome to apply for 2016.

Organisation Members

All who were organisation members during 2015 will be asked to renew their membership except those organisations who joined the CMC for the first time in the last quarter of 2015.

Renewing Registered Mediation Providers will not complete a registration form this year but will make their registration renewal payment (along with their membership fee) in the normal way.

Providers who were new to the registration scheme during 2015 will not renew until 2017.

Please note that the CMCL is now VAT registered and whilst membership and registration fees are the same as for 2015, VAT is added to the price.

Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Platform

Further to our recent article 'Do you comply with the ADR Directive?', the Department for Business have now provided a link, available below, to the ODR Platform.

If you click on the link you will see that it directs to a provisional page with a message informing that the platform will be operational (i.e. accessible to EU consumers and traders) on 15 February.

Although the link will not give access to traders and consumers yet, it will provide an opportunity to prepare websites in advance of the ‘go live’ date on 15 February.
