Accredited Mediation Providers
The CMC Provider Accreditation Scheme
The Civil Mediation Council Provider Accreditation Scheme is for organisations that provide civil and commercial mediation services.
Once your organisation is a provider member of the CMC, you can then apply to become a CMC Accredited Mediation Provider if you wish to do so. Being accredited by the CMC is the pre-requisite of being able to apply to the Find a Civil Mediator Directory on the Direct Gov website (ran by the Ministry of Justice) at http://www.civilmediation.justice.gov.uk/.
An organisation can become accredited by the CMC at any time generally except in the last quarter of the year whilst the following year's Scheme details are finalised.
Please note that the application process can take up to four weeks. You will be sent the Find a Civil Mediator Directory application form when accreditation is confirmed.
Accreditation currently costs £300 and organisations must apply to be re-accredited annually.
For those organisations re-accrediting for 2014, all are asked to return completed applications by 7th March 2014 to allow the Accreditation Committee assessing applications to so by the end of March (the re-accreditation deadline).
